Payment

Payment of the Contribution is to be made before Traveller contact is initiated with the Host Family. View the Application Process page for more details of how to pay online.

Payment of homestay rent is paid directly to the Host Family and is due on day of arrival.

The Contribution to Avante Educação Brasil is the charge for our service in connecting the Traveller to the Host Family. If the participant chooses not to join the program, the charge cannot be refunded, as many resources and processes will have already begun (i.e. Host family selected, other participants turned away, etc).

The homestay family rent is not usually refundable; however this is left up to the individual families based on the circumstances.

Problem Resolution

We are a connection service between Travellers and Host Families. We are not an extensive exchange program. We are not responsible for any inconveniences that will happen before, during, or after your period in Brazil. Therefore we do not offer refunds to your contribution or the settlement of grievances between you and your host family.

If the Traveller asks to be moved to another homestay because of incompatibility with the original selected homestay, we will move the Traveller as soon as another homestay is available, but the unused portion of the homestay rent cannot be forwarded to the new Host Family.

If a Traveller chooses to move out of the homestay for reasons other than incompatability, for example, they found an apartment in which to move, and choose to not wait until the end of the session to move, the financial equivalent of the remaining time cannot be recompensed.
